Beurer pulse oximeter PO30 is intended for non-invasive measurement of arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (pulse rate). The oxygen saturation indicates how much percent of the hemoglobin in the arterial blood is saturated with oxygen. Therefore， it is an important parameter for assessing respiratory function. When measuring， the pulse oximeter uses two light rays with a different wavelength， which come down on the finger placed in the device on the inside of the housing. A low oxygen saturation value is in most cases caused by disorders (asthma， heart failure， respiratory disorders， etc.). People with low oxygen saturation levels in many cases suffer from the following symptoms: breathlessness， increased heart rate， reduction in performance， nervousness and sweat outbreaks. In the case of chronic and known reduced oxygen saturation， regular medical monitoring should be carried out. The pulse oximeter is used for this purpose. In case of acutely reduced oxygen saturation， with or without the associated symptoms， a doctor should be consulted immediately. This could be a life-threatening situation. The pulse oximeter is therefore particularly suitable for at-risk patients (such as asthmatics and people with heart disease)， but also for athletes and healthy individuals who are often at high altitudes (such as mountaineers， skiers or hobby pilots).
